AndBeyond SAVUTE Under Canvas
AndBeyond Savute Under Canvas is a mobile camp close to this channel that feeds into the Savute Marsh, home to exceptional numbers of elephant-hunting lions.
Savute, a remote and wild corner of Chobe National Park, stretches from the park’s northern boundaries to the Linyanti River.
It’s named after the enigmatic Savute Channel, which flows and dries up intermittently, seemingly unrelated to rainfall: it flowed in 2009, again in 2013 and no one can say when it will flow again.
Accommodation at AndBeyond Savute Under Canvas:
Situated within the unique and haunting Savute landscape, our exclusive mobile campsites are perfectly situated to explore this remote region.
The common guest area comprises open-sided tents for dining, pre-dinner drinks, or simply whiling away the time between game-viewing adventures with a good book and a frosted beer or glass of wine.
Delicious meals cooked over the coals are shared around a blazing fire.
You’ll love the spaciousness of our mobile tents.
Each of the five canvas tents boasts a comfortable double or twin bed, as well as an ensuite bathroom, separate flush WC, and an outdoor bucket shower – steaming hot water is available on request.
A private butler is on hand to assist with any requirements.
Live this real-life adventure, immersed in the wild world of Savute.
Wildlife at AndBeyond Savute Under Canvas:
Sizable numbers of elephant bulls are invariably present.
During the dry years, when prey was hard to find, many of Savute’s lions became notorious for hunting elephants.
With the recent transformation of the region, prey has become more abundant, and the large lion pride has split up into smaller family groups, allowing a greater variety of predators to flourish in the area.
Savute is also a famous battleground for lions and spotted hyenas.
With grazing now plentiful, the area is also popular with zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe, tsessebe, and kudu.
Dining at AndBeyond Savute Under Canvas:
Stargaze to your heart’s content as you dine beneath a blanket of stars: all meals are freshly prepared over an open fire.
Mealtimes become story time as you swap details of your day’s adventures and wildlife sightings. Tune in to the day-night soundscape of Savute’s wild spaces.
Disconnect to Reconnect:
Drop off the radar. With no Wi-Fi or electricity, you have the rare opportunity to disconnect from the everyday world and reconnect with yourself and each adventure-filled moment.
Priceless time with those people special to you, new friendships, and memories to last a lifetime.
