Boteti Tented Camp in Botswana is a rustic, locally owned camp on the banks of the Boteti River, just 45 minutes from Maun on the outskirts of a local community where the owner spent his childhood. 

Boteti is an ideal stopover en route or finishing up on your jam-packed safari adventure, as it introduces you to a slice of the authentic, local Maun way of life while allowing you to ramp up your safari experience by adding in a few more safari tours.

Boteti Tented Camp is located a few meters from one of the tributaries of the Okavango Delta, the Boteti River.

The Boteti River is a life source of water for the arid Kalahari plains and the famed Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.

Considering the river is the only reliable water source in the area, it’s no surprise that it’s a magnet for crocodiles, hippos, and wading birds.

Boteti Tented Camp sleeps 10 people in 5 Meru-style canvas tents built on wooden platforms.

Each expansive tent sleeps 2 people maximum and has ample space to move around.

Each tent has a wooden chest for storage, a bedside table, a work desk, and an ensuite bathroom surrounded by a wall of rustic wooden poles.

With simple decor and designer African-inspired accents, the intimate Boteti Tented Camp is an extension of its wild surroundings.

The main area is built on a wooden platform under canvas.

There’s a small lounge, dining area, and a beautifully constructed bar with inspirational decor.

From the main area, the decking flows out to an outdoor relaxation spot with a swimming pool and poolside sun loungers.

Safari Activities at Boteti Tented Camp Botswana: 

Boteti offers a multitude of exciting safari activities and adventures designed to introduce guests to the local cultures and customs; wildlife; and surreal landscapes.

The cost of your stay includes one activity a day, and others can be added on at an extra cost.

If you are only staying for a short time, we highly recommend the day trip to the Moremi Game Reserve or the Okavango Delta safari which includes a short game drive, walk, and mokoro.

Directions to the camp from Maun:

As you leave Maun on the road to Francistown, known as the “Francistown Road”, you will drive for
approximately 10 minutes before noticing a sign on the road indicating a turn to the right onto a gravel road.

Continue with this road and follow signs to “Boteti Tented Safari Lodge” about a 15-minute drive away.
