Daunara Safari Camp Botswana is in the heart of the Okavango Delta just a quick helicopter flip from Maun (a pioneering safari town in the north of Botswana on the edge of the Thamalakane River).

The magnificent Daunara Safari Camp is perched on the edge of a permanent water body, perfectly situated for days full of adventure and activity or for you to take time to escape from the world and reconnect with it as it ought to be.

The design of our 5-bedroom camp at Daunara is elegant, contemporary, and sophisticated – distinctly African in its roots.

With hand-crafted finishes in timber and canvas, it’s a welcoming home for all guests, whether booked individually or as a sole-use experience.

Our dedicated team delivers sincere and charming service, deeply proud of their Botswana heritage.

We have 5 stand-alone classic, spacious and beautifully appointed tented suites which overlook the delta, two of which are interconnected with a shared sitting room.

The whole camp is connected via raised wooden walkways.

All the tented suites are fully air-conditioned in both the bedroom and the bathroom.

We make travelling with family easy, and we love welcoming younger guests. 

Daunara Safari Camp is thoughtfully equipped to entertain and captivate our younger guests and hopefully create a passion for Africa.

Our food is clean and uncomplicated with distinct flavours that celebrate the fresh produce we can get from our community garden. 

The days and menus are unscripted, for you to enjoy meals at your own pace.

Meals are paired with the finest South African wines we have personally selected.

In between game drives and exciting adventure activities, you can find time for a quick workout at the gym or a relaxing massage in our dedicated massage pavilion.

At the end of the walkway past the guest’s suites, a stand-alone fully appointed massage tent overlooks the pan to the west of the camp.

Our spa products are all organic and regionally sourced with sustainability in mind.

Our state-of-the-art gym with a view, is equipped with the latest in techno gym equipment.

It is a perfect place to work off some of the delicious home-cooked meals or keep up with your fitness regime whilst on safari.

The Daunara Safari Camp Story

Daunara represents the culmination of a dream shared by three people with a passion for Africa.

Together, they have created an ecotourism destination that represents their love for Botswana, and their commitment to not just creating memorable safari experiences but having a positive impact on local communities.

Owners David, Lisa and Matt met on safari in Botswana and soon realized that their different but complementary skill sets could be combined to create a new kind of safari business – one that has people and wildlife at its heart.

Matt’s decades of guiding experience, Lisa’s flair for design and David’s business acumen have created a joint venture forged from friendship, a deep love for Botswana, and the desire to give back to the communities living on the fringe of the Okavango Delta.
